April 2026 Strips Cutting report
I did cut up a few more of the shirt pieces I worked on in March. Here are those. These 10” squares weighed about 0.35 lb. So, not very much.
And then I cut up other things as well. Once again, I’m trying to use up things FIRST for a different project if I can.
Here is the summary.
2.5” - 0.73 lb.
2” - 0.28 lb.
1.5” - 0.35 lb.
You can see that I didn’t cut much again this month. I will admit that I did pass on about 5 bags of scraps to others this month - as I have more than I can handle. However, I still have quite a few bags waiting to be cut up.
Overall, my totals since I started keeping track 10 years ago - are here.
Now, don’t forget, I am going through a LOT of these 2.5” strips by making charity quilt bindings out of them. It is really helping.
I also started that 2” strips series in an effort to use these up. It has helped but this is a constantly replenishing supply.
I have started focusing on the 2.5” ones since I have even more of those than the 2” ones. So, maybe this year will be the year I see huge progress. I’m thinking of what I can do as I have two very large bags with white based strips - but they are pretty busy for a true low volume, so I’m thinking. I could do something like I did for the 2” called Mustgoes. Still thinking as I work on other things.
Here are a few of the patterns and quilts that I’ve made from these 2.5” strips.
