Back to 2025 Edyta Sitar mystery - part 5

I decided it was past time to get busy with this round of the msytery quilt. I finally cleared out so many things from my head that I had the room to think about this project.

I’m so hoping it will be pretty. I know that Edyta’s patterns, wtih the right fabrics are stunning!

I also decided to go ahead and start putting it together. i think that by doing that, I will be encouraged to keep going - and maybe faster as I’ve been kind of lax and I want to have it done!

Colorado - Edyta Sitar 2024 mystery

For those of you who aren’t aware - Edyta Sitar from Laundry Basket Quilts does a mystery every year. I only became aware of it last year and made her 2024 mystery. Maybe I actually became aware in 2024, but didn’t keep up with it in 2024, as usual but did finish it within th elast few months. It’s here.

She is currently doing her 2026 and yes, I’m behind. I’m about to get started - just have to decide on my colorway.

BUT this one is 2025 and hopefully I”m on a roll now!

I decided to just get going on putting my plan together as I make it. It’s a medallion quilt, so I’m quite able to do that. Here is the tweak I have from her clues - but I will be changing it a bit from this as well.

So here I am - the pics. I have finished Clue 5 - which is through the green zig zag area. Next will be the stars - which I have tweaked a bit since this design, but I’ll share that with you as I actually finish the roiunds. I’m so glad to be working on it again, since I’m sure if I work on it, I’ll finish it. Edyta named this quilt “Tennessee”. Why? I’ve not a clue.

I think she said, but to me this quilt doesn’t look like a Tennessee, even though my youngest son and his wife just moved there.

This is what it looks like after weeks 1 and 2 are put together.

Then, after the next 2 weeks were added:

And then now I’m up to date with week 5 - the green chevron effect.

This is the blog post where Edyta shared with us her round 5.

The next round will be easier I think. I didn’t care for all the points - even though I will have a lot of points with my flying geese in the next round with the stars.

In case you are wondering what fabric I’m using. We have it at Quilted Twins! It’s here. The pictures are below, but that link will take you to this page.

I feel a little bit bad that I let this one slide, but not really. Quilting is something has to fit around my needs and I do my best not to let myself feel “down” about not staying up with someone else’s schedule.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
