"Strings Galore" top finished

This is my rendition of a strings quilt using primarily my Lori Holt and “friends” fabrics. I had so many of these pesky little pieces that were just plugging up my boxes of her fabrics. I also had thrown some into a bag and decided I wanted to go through and use a lot of it.

This quilt top did just that.

It also used a few different black pieces that were sitting around leftover from other things. I did use those up and ended up hitting up some black yardage to finish it off. The same with the whites. I used various whites that were leftover from some other things and then used yardage from my bolt.\ of white.

Well, I didn’t use it from my bolt- I had some from some I had cut off from tablecloths for the church for Easter. I said I would use whatever wasn’t used or after it was used once and washed, I would use for quilting. This is some of that.

I seriously like how this one came out. But once I saw how pretty these fabrics were all together, I may not have needed the black and white, either, but it does add some pizzazz to the top design. Without the bands of color, it would have been a bit less dramatic, but more classic as a strings quilt

I do have a small strings quilt series - it is here. Let me share it with you.

Anyway, here are more pictures of this quilt top. I decided to add a black border to this top to make it a 95”x95” top but that also means that I can put a scrappy binding on it and it will be totally fun as it will be visible.

I am also going to throw this one into my Lori Holt series since I am using almost all LH fabrics.

So here is the series to date.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
