Granny Squares - all finished! Not the quilt - just the blocks

I spent quite a few hours yesterday on these blocks. I had made strips of 8 of them probably last week and hadn’t pressed them yet. I decided to stop doing other things and just finish making those 8 blocks before I lost some of the strips. Of course that pushed me into getting the rest of the blocks made.

So here are the pictures of that.

I needed 182 blocks and apparently I ended up counting wrong, and made 185. However, I would rather have 3 blocks too many than 3 too few. Hopefully my count is accurate. I’ll find out when I make the top.

Here are the 26 I finished up for this post.

I’ve been writing down how many I make each time I work on these.

I then decided to go ahead and see if I could fit them all on the table. I did.

I will see how soon I actually make this top up - but I am thinking of starting on it. Since I am going to put a thin sashing strip and cornerstones between each block, it absolutely will not be a fast process.

And that’s okay.

I’ve been working on it for quite some time already. I won’t push this final step. Because I will be working with bias edges on each of these blocks, I absolutely will not try to go fast. That would just be asking for being frustrated.

I am still planning on doing something like this plan:

So, slow and steady will get this one done. Someday! :)

Thank you so much for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
