The International Quilt Show in Houston - Oct. 25-Nov. 1, 2025

The International Quilt Show was held during Quilt Market and during Quilt Festival. During that time, we could wander through this amazing display of quilts. I’m not going to talk about a lot of them as my entire visit dedicated to this part of the trip was under 2 hours. I let the beauty of the quilts overtake me. I also thought you’d enjoy just looking at the quilts.

The first part of the show seemed to be centered around patriotism, which I found to be fabulously inspiring. The giant circle of quilts was hard to photograph inside and outside, but I tried.

Raising the Flag.

This quilt was an absolute masterpiece. It was huge, and a quiet statement of history, which we found to be a great spot for a group shot. We were finishing up our stay at Quilt Market, and this was our final tour before heading to find food and to the airport!

Ken Woodard, Steven Woodard, Sarah Ritschard and I enjoyed the immensity of this quilt.

We wandered separately a lot because we all were interested in various things. In fact, Steven and Ken went and sat down after about an hour, when Sarah and I were determined to see most, if not all of this amazing show.

There seemed to be winners every where we turned. I tried to take a picture of the ribbon with the winning quilt, though I fear that some of the descriptions were cut off. However, if they are shown in the next set of photos, they were winners of some sort.

Then we saw a whole lot of poppies. This was a Cherrywood competition. These poppy quilts were gorgeous! I hope you enjoy looking at each one. I tried to find all the winners, but didn’t necessarily pick them out. I was amazed at how different the same theme and the same idea could turn out.

Below you’ll some of the amazing quilts that we saw. I didn’t begin to take all the pictures of the quilts, but wanted to look at them again in the quiet of my home and computer!

All in all, the whole quilt show was inspirational and amazing. HOWEVER, I have seen some of you all bring in or show us quilts that were just as amazing.

If you think you have done an amazing quilt, consider submitting it for next year’s quilt show! No, maybe you won’t win a prize, but it’s still a beautiful show of skill, masterpiece and beauty!
