"Contemporary Classic Bowtie"
I actually finished this one quite a while ago now.
I recently realized I had never finished this one up or showed it to you.
This is one of the easiest quilts I’ve made in a long, long time.
The bowtie block, as made in the modern style is a look alike. The older style bowtie blocks actually, up close, look like a bowtie. I want to try one of those as well, but this one is a contemporary bowtie block only made with sort of vintage fabrics. By that I was going for pastely small floral prints.
I totally embraced the idea of using various whites and off whites in the background - as they probably would have done “back when” the bowtie block was originally being made.
So, finally, here are my photos of the completed quilt.
You can see, while hanging up anyway, that I have see through because I made a backing that was half dark, and half light. I probably will avoid doing that in the future if at all possible. But it isn’t noticeable once lying flat on a bed or table, or floor. It’s really only noticeable when hanging up with the light from behind coming in.
Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
