Selvedge Quilt nr 2 - Thread Spools
Selvedge quilt nr. 1 - quarter log cabin
Yes, I’ve got these two HUGE bags of selvedges in my sewing room and I just decided to go ahead and start another one. I know, I know, I’ve not finished that first one yet.
What I mean by that is that I’ve not quilted it yet. However, I have picked out a backing and paired them up and am ready to go with quilting it. It may be one of the first ones I do when I get on a roll - which is hopefully shortly!
In fact, I’m getting excited about working on my own quilts - something I’ve not really done this year yet. At least not many.
The blocks are going to be large - 12” finished.
This is the approximate idea. The colors won’t be exactly the same as drawn here.
I’ve only got a few blocks finished, but I have done a few.
It is just that once I start going through my selvedges, they kind of get dumped out fo the bags and I have them all over the place and I feel the need to go ahead and make the blocks before putting them back away.
They kind of take over the floor of my sewing room as they are dumped out in a huge, HUGE pile! If I get the courage, I’ll take a photo for you.
These blocks are fun to make and I’m not making these selvedge quilts large. This one will be only 57”x81” when finished - so a nice lap sized quilt that a person could take a nap under. I mean, it’s almost the same size as our European singles!
That’s it for now!
Thanks for coming along with me on this journey.
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
