"Pleasures of Fall"

I finished this quilt a while ago and we had it finished in Florida by our long arm friends, Beth and Doug Martin, who did a fantastic job, as usual.

This panel is stunning and it is time to share this beautiful quilt with you!

This picture was taken in Florida in my mom’s back yard.

Finding the right time to take pictures in Florida is tricky. The sun can be so bright and shiny that it can wash out the photos. But sometimes if we wait too long, the picture can be a bit too dark.

Mom has a lot of trees in the area which can stop the afternoon sun.

I chose to put the leaves across the top and bottom in the same colors so you can just make two of each and then figure out the order in which you want them to be put. I chose colors for the leaves from the panel itself.

The piece of fabric across the top and bottom of the panel matches very well!

This is one of my favorite panels which is why I chose to do it. I also have grown to love these colors since I started quilting.

We bound the quilt in a nice sage green.

In this design the panel is the true feature and the leaves just add some length and interest to the top!

Such a panel is interesting enough to just frame with a couple of borders and be done! Don’t forget you can do that too! These kinds of quilts do not have to be complicated!

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
