Progress Report on - "Grandma’s Sampler Quilt”

I’ve got so many things going on that I’ve not been really able to share a whole quilt every couple of days or even every week.

But I can share a progress report.

I started this Lori Holt quilt from the Prairie Home book a while ago now.

I made the Home Sweet Home words.

They look like this.

I thought they might be the hardest so I wanted to try them.

They went pretty fast, but then I put the whole thing away - it was just sitting by my dining room table.

Finally, after clearing out a couple of other projects, I was ready to get back to tackling it.

I usually try to work on maybe 3 or 4 quilts sort of actively at least a little bit of ‘active’ - keeping them near the machine—so that I can stay interested in whatever I have to do. This one hadn’t been neglected completely. I felt like I had put it on simmer on the back burner while I paid attention to other projects but I kept thinking about it.

But I’m back to it. I’ve moved it from the back burner to the front one.

I’ve worked on the outer border pieces - got them together - just not pressed yet.

I’ve worked on the the red spaced out border - in pieces.

And the pink/red flowers.

The leaves are in process right now.

Here’s what this top is going to look like - this is the picture from the book on the right. I’m having a hard time finding it from the internet in general.

Hopefully I can get to finishing up this top in the next few days or at least couple of weeks.

It’s been a while since I have shared my Lori Holt series of quilts/tops. To be part of this series either the pattern is from Lori Holt OR the fabrics are LH fabrics. Could be both, but definitely one or the other at a minimum.

I’m getting ready to turn my concentration to another airplane quilt (but not only - just want to get going on the next one).

Remember that series?

So far I only have 3 tops done in the series, which, while not terrible, isn’t nearly as many as I want to make! I have several patterns I’ve found that people have come up with and I’ve worked on the computer designing something to go with some yardage and two Jelly Rolls from Moda featuring the High Flight line of fabrics.

This is THAT series so far.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
