I've been SICK!

I managed to get a nice, bad cold a few days ago! Maybe it was more than that - the flu? I don’t know. I was just trying to get through it all by myself, but finally added some Vit C, zinc, and magnesium. Then I added some cough medicine.

Yesterday I went to bed before 8 pm. For me, that’s pretty unusual.

Today I do feel a lot better. I told Rachael I wasn’t sure if it is that I’m actually feeling better or the Tylenol cold/flu meds I took. :)

Because of that, my energy has been very, very low, so let me share just a few things with you!

First of all

I finished QUILTING those 120 quilts! It took me what felt like a long time to do the last few. But I kept working and finished them up. Thankfully listening to baseball helps me get through monotonous work!

Rejoice with me! Step one (and two - trimming) is finished). Now I will start binding in a massive way. I am really feeling that pressure after getting a phone call yesterday from a local social worker who told me she knows several who can really use our quilts.

The other things I did were -

  1. Grated all my zucchini I couldn’t find homes for and and put them in the freezer in packages of 2 cups for my zucchini bread recipe. (They’d just been sitting around in my kitchen or on my front entry way.)

  2. Folded all the leftover cut off pieces of the 120 charity quilts so they are easy to trim down - either into squares or strips.

  3. Prepared the last 46 squares collection for the Granny Square quilt blocks I’m working on. :) By that I mean I chose out the right number of 12-8-4-1 colors and put them together in groups. They are all together and ready to work on when I get in the mood.

And that’s all.

The pile of batting and cut off pieces got pretty big before I separated them out! Picture shown is from the first half of quilts I did.

I put small pieces of batting (skinny pieces) into bags to give away and kept the larger pieces to use for hearts or when I need another piece for a quilt. All are in bags.

I did spend a couple of hours in my long arm room working on cleaning up and straightening up.

Because I haven’t been feeling well, I’ve been working slowly but steadily. I figure some progress is better than no progress.

I have a couple more hours of work in the long arm room to get it where I want. Then I’ll show you some more pictures. I’m preparing more backings and finding all the tops that I have in there and thinking about backings for them.

I had grand and glorious ideas about an amazing blog post, but this is what I actually worked on today - Thurs. October 17, 2024 - so I am sharing it with you on Friday.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
