Blues strips number 6 top finished - “Oh my Stars!”

This is the next top in this limited series of tops using my 2.5” blues strips. I am not sure if you remember from earlier in the year but I took a bunch of 2.5” strips from my bags of 2.5” BLUE strips and sewed 4 together and got a very, very long strip.

Then, I proceeded to make 5 tops. I cut all the rest up into squares and from those cuts - well, this is number 6 in the series. I know I have number 7 planned and then I’m not sure what I’m going to do. I think I have enough for the number 8 but we’ll have to see. This one only took 24 blocks because there is so much sashing in this one. The next one planned needs 35 blocks.

Here are the first five. I am making all of these red/white/blue.

So here is my number 6.

This one has the sashing which completely overrides the blues. I know that.

And it’s fine.

That was the plan.

The actual color and placement of the sashing strips was pretty random, however. I mean, I tried to plan it out sorta, but just did it while I was at the sewing machine. This is why it isn’t perfect.

This quilt top is about 60”x88”.

Obviously those sashing stars took the majority of the time in making these.

I really like it!

Here is the roll I made to start with. I was able to use up a lot of blues in this series! I cut off squares from this roll. I could easily do it again and again, but I’m not going to do that! I’m ready for this mini series to be over!

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
