Prep for the Big Quilt Give-away

This week, among other things, I’ve been working on getting ready for the Give away which we have scheduled for Saturday, Nov 22.

So what have I been doing?

Well, I do have to fix up my coupons. This is what they currently look like. I am not doing a big reworking of them but the picture is different every time I do this - I do try to use a picture from the current pile of quilts!

So, I cut all my coupons and then had to start contacting people about getting them to the needy.

So I contacted my main social worker person. She called me back and said she was at a training and I can go give her the coupons on Monday - that will be fine.

The other lady I contacted said she doesn’t have a lot of contact with people in Otwock now, but she will ask around.

So that’s that. So far. Monday I will get busy giving out the coupons! I thought I would do it today but there is always that happy medium - not too early/not too late to get the coupons to people!

Then, I need to contact a couple of my friends who are in contact with the people who know people who could use these quilts here in our area. I do this by phone text and Messenger text. Then I get the coupons to them so they can distribute them. It is a huge help to me when the social agencies help me out.

At this point, I wait. In a few days we will bring the quilts down from their storage area at the church and arrange them on chairs so that Saturday, Nov. 22, we can give most of them away! My son, Tim, said he would help with the photography work once again. I really appreciate his photos. He and his wife, Claire, were here in 2019 when I had a give away - and this is the overview before we started.

I keep using these photos from Jan, 2019 because they are the best ones I have. :) My other years — my photos weren’t nearly as good! Kudos to the photographer - thanks, Tim. (Even though I don’t think he reads here.)

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
