Alaskan Show-Off - the end

My sis said several of you came into the store and were following this saga daily so I thought it would be only appropriate to show the end of the story.

My husband made it safely to Alaska with the whole set — the quilt, 4 decorator pillows, and two regular pillowcases as shown in this post.

Then just a day or so ago he delivered it.

Yes they loved it!

My husband said that Karen, the wife said, “No one has ever done this kind of thing before!” She was almost in tears.

Aww.

Anyway, it made me feel good.

Many people (especially children, but not only children!) think that “getting gifts” is the best.

It’s actually not.

Giving them is. If you’ve never tried it - you should.

It’s also a biblical principle! “It is more blessed to give than to receive.” (Acts 20:35)

Oh…in Alaska, I asked my husband to pick them up a nice set of all cotton sheets as well - to add to the gift. I thought it would be nice to have a set that matches! I mean, really. A whole new set - isn’t that better than not? He got them two new pillows to go into the pillowcases as well - plus the 18” pillow forms. So he had a fair bit of work to do to get this gift ready as well once he got there.

Don’t let him kid you. He likes doing this kind of thing too! I know he does.

Since he sent me a couple other pics from Alaska, I thought I’d share them as well. They are having a lot of snow right now. This, of course, makes him feel like it’s the Alaska he grew up in!

I asked him to send me some pics of moose as well. He sent me one.

Here’s the mama moose with her calf.

Mike said that the moose are struggling this year due to the amount of snow - they are having a hard time finding food.

There’s nothing quite like closure, right? Well, now you have it!
