Well, here is the next set of quilts ready to head to the church building!

I’m excited…

Why? You say…you are only 5/12 done so far!

Well, yes, and no. With the 50 that I have completely done including washed and photographed, I actually have 10 more than are quilted and just waiting to be bound plus more that are sandwiched.

This theoretically means that soon - VERY soon, I will be going on the downhill side of the 120 that I want made for this year. VERY soon!

And that is exciting to me!

Of course - let me remind you - the tops have been finished for some time plus I got 25 more not too long ago from you and I’m trying to make more each month from the Big Fabric Haul.

I am tickled to be able to be using them up though. I mean, rather, FINISHING them up, as it means I can empty out my son’s old room.

That many tops - even JUST tops is quite a bit of fabric and piles sitting around, waiting to be dealt with. Then, of course, with all these tops, I’ve been going through a lot of backing fabric.

I am ahead now on sandwiched quilts. the total pile you see here means I’m up to 86 sandwiched ones. I am going to possibly run out of safety pins before get to the 120 - because I’ve decided to sandwich 16 a week - I realized that if I do 4 at a ti…

I am ahead now on sandwiched quilts. the total pile you see here means I’m up to 86 sandwiched ones. I am going to possibly run out of safety pins before get to the 120 - because I’ve decided to sandwich 16 a week - I realized that if I do 4 at a time - that’s about one hour of work - I can do that 4x and not go crazy.(That’s 16 quilts.) Naturally I just have to stay ahead with getting backings prepared. I’m trying to use up the ends of some of my backing fabrics - which means I am having to sew some smaller pieces to make bigger pieces.

This is where our cat has been sleeping! I let them sleep on these until after I get them quilted and washed.

One thing I decided to do is start using up some of my own florals for the backing for the floral shadow quilts. Why? Well, because I have 4 shelves of florals that, for the most part, I’m not using at all. And like everyone else, I’m just one person.

Most of them came from the lady whose stash we purchased in ‘15 and I am not attached to them in any emotional way, either!

Anyway, that’s it! that’s what I’ve been up to with regards to charity quilting!

Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store!
