"Long-Arm Room Reno" - Day 3 - Electrical/Drywall
It’s the second day that the men are working in that room and as such, we’re seeing big progress!
In the morning they got the electrical lines run and the drywall on the ceiling and some on some of the walls.
About 1 pm they came up for dinner and then went back to work about 1:30pm! I know once they get drywall covering those ugly insulated walls, the room will look ever so much better!
We are planning to put 6 round LED lights over the area where the long arm will be - and then 6 smaller round lights on the side of the room by the door along the wall where I think I am going to put another regular sewing machine so if I want to sew while the machine is working, I can. Mike also ran the electrical line so I can put a tv up so I could have it on while I’m working the machine (from the front) - since we don’t actually have tv in the house, it’s obviously for You Tube or other websites that we can stream on it - using Chromecast. The main modem in the house is in the room two floors above this room (my husband’s office).
By the end this day, all the drywall was up and in place and some of the holes for the outlets were cut into place.
Tomorrow’s plan is to get the first mudding of the drywall done and my husband hopes to get the holes for the light fixtures cut and ready to go.
Mike also did put two outlets on the one wall so that we can put a separate fixture above (and closer) to the long arm. He knows that I always need more light!
From now on the changes may get more subtle. I knew that today’s changes would be radical! But once they start putting that drywall mud on - it gets exciting to me because it changes the look of the drywall. Having someone else do it and not us is helping as well - as my husband will let Artur do all the drywall. :) (great sacrifice, huh?) LOL. If you’ve ever done drywall, you will know that it is NOT a sacrifice.
Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store here!
Here’s one of the beauties we have!
