Ukraine Efforts this Past Week

Well, I got over my need to “not do anything” - and ended up buying quite a bit for my husband’s next load which should be within a few days of when you are reading this.

Let’s review.

Monday

I went shopping to get some lights that had been on sale in Lidl last week. I had bought some of them last week, but wanted any more that they had left in the Lidl I went to. I also picked up some other lights and diapers.

Tuesday

I started getting in product for the next load Mike told me about. I had ordered a lot of things over the weekend and expect it this week.

Wednesday

I had ordered quite a bit of food for a caravan that was heading to Ukraine (without us driving) - and stopped by check on the load.

Thursday

The group was coming to the wholesale place to get the food that I had ordered and paid for. That actually took a good bit of the day since I was waiting for them and then standing around watching them fill the big van with the food. Our order in no way completely filled the van but by the time they finished adding our load of food, the tires were sitting a little squatty.

We did get some more things delivered - and we put them in the vehicles to take to the garage later.

I also bought some things for the next load at a different wholesale place.

Friday

It was a holiday here - Polish Independence Day - and I didn’t shop as there was nothing open.

Saturday

All we did today was take things that were in the vehicles to the church garage. We are collecting a bit now.

So far here we have 50 water filter jugs and 10 filters for each one, leggings, warm socks, some otc meds, diapers, adult diapers, candles, power banks, flashlights, work gloves, children’s diapers, TP, hydrogen peroxide, and various other things.

I will add a lot of food and more personal hygiene items to be bought locally (shampoo, soap, etc.) and of course, the last of the prepared bags of quilt blankets. I am so excited to see them get moved on out! Yeah. And just in time for cold weather this winter.

And that is it. It was a busy week of prepping. All those loads - they take work ahead of time plus the actual loading it up and taking it to Ukraine.

Thanks so much for coming along with me. Have a great day wherever you are reading.
