"Streaky" is finished!
This is another in my 2.5” series that I finally finished!
The name Streaky comes from the white diagonal stripes that are formed with the white squares. This top involves one main block plus a sashing block and 2 different cornerstone blocks.
I wanted this one a bit wider than it was going to be. Since this design needed to be in groups of 2 blocks, I didn’t want it to be a square, so I made it a 6x8 layout.
This makes it 93”x107”. I resisted the urge to make it 107”x107”. :)
This one turned out beautifully, I think. The colors are the ones I am naturally drawn to, as I’ve mentioned before as pastels are the colors I have loved since I was quite young.
This day was supposed to be quite dry, but it ended up being a bit drizzly. I managed to get my pictures, however in spite of the bit of dripping rain.
In the end, it’s a pretty one. I was able to use up a lot of these beautiful colored strips.
The quilt roll is here.
This is one of those that I started many many years ago now. I had made ONE block and just had it hanging around my sewing room. I thought to make more of them but hadn’t decided the exact layout of them so I just waited and figured I’d design something - or move the arrangement of the blocks until it “spoke to me” if I can use that expression. That’s probably a bit of an exaggeration, but I had to do something to make the blocks look more interesting than just lying there very plain.
Anyway, I did write up the pattern for you.
I’ve made this sashing so many times - I’m going to have to come up with something else for a change!
Anyway - here’s the free pattern! Probably most of you could easily make it without a pattern, but this is just in case someone needs a bit of guidance.
I think it is self-explanatory as to why I decided to call it Streaky.
Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
