Introducing the 2025 Florida Mini Cosmetic Bags
I decided to go ahead and cut up some of our leftover shop hop fabric pieces into 2.5” squares.
While I was at Lydia’s place in SC a couple of weeks ago now, we sorted them into groups appropriate for a coral or turquoise cosmetic bag.
I finally got around to making the bags within the last week and we are now offering them for a limited amount of time in the shop and on line.
We will not be making a lot of these - I think there are about 40 of each colorway. Last year we sold over 200 of them with the white fabric.
Anyway, I did use a white zipper for fun and contrast with the colorful outer part of the bag.
The pattern is included in the kit. You also get 2 D rings and the squares plus 2 zippers besides the outer fabric and lining fabric. The outer fabric is turquoise or coral and the lining fabric may vary but it is something light.
The kit will make 2 bags - the same outer color. We are not including one coral and one turquoise - that isn’t happening. If you want that, you will need to buy two kits which will then make 2 coral and 2 turquoise. Of course you could get with a friend and each buy a kit and then split the fabrics.
So, enjoy.
These little bags go together quickly. When you want a break from making quilts, these are a perfect solution for “I want to see something FINISHED.
I did bind the inside edges with matching fabrics - though the pattern doesn’t actually call for it. I thought it added a cute touch.
If you do like these little cosmetic bags - the pattern is a free one from Moda. We do include a copy with each kit - but you can make your own by downloading it here.
I hope you can! It’s a great use of small pieces - and you can make them relatively quickly - especially after the first couple!!
Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.
Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
