Even More Jumbo Receiving Blankets

I can’t help myself.

The fabric moves me.

When I come back to Florida and see the amazing flannel that Rachael has in the store, I jsut want to make up a couple more flannel receiving blankets. I know how very handy they are, and how beautiful the fabric is.

So, I did - once again, I made two more receiving blankets. This time I am putting them on the walls of the store back in the flannel section of the store. Flannel is a bit of a hard sell Florida, but many are making things as gifts for people ‘up north’, so there’s that.

However, each time I mention these in a blog post - which is several times now - several of you tell me how you make them as gifts and they are always very well received and oh, so useful!

This flannel is not your cheapo flannel. This is a super nice quality- it has a wonderful drape and feel to it. I’ve used “less nice” flannel - and this is NOT that. This has a very nice hand.

The particular prints here are from Northcott- and just like Northcott’s Stonehenge fabrics - they are a fantastic quality.

Anyway- these are a quick sew - once cut - and when you are finished, you do have something which is a really nice quality and makes a wonderful gift.

I know I’ve talked about them before, but I honestly think they are so nice, and as I said, every time I come to Florida and get a real glimpse into these fabrics we have, I just can’t help myself.

 

This time I just made two of them.

 
 

They are so very quick - and while I’m not usually trying to be “quick” - the hardest part might have been the trimming the pieces to size before sewing.

(I only say the part about not ‘trying to be quick’ because that is when mistakes happen - when a person is trying to make something very speedy. At least that is what I find. It also takes the enjoyment out of the process.)
