Quilt of Valor Summer Challenge update!
We just wanted to encourage you in this summer QOV (Quilt of Valor) challenge!
So far we have received back a total of 32 quilts which can be given to vets in a special ceremony. We are hoping that in the second half of August we will see many many more come in!
Don’t forget that you will get some nice prizes in exchange for doing this! We have been amazing gifts donated by companies that relate to quilting.
We know that quilters are some of the most generous people alive - and we are watching it happen before our eyes!
Our local Lakeland, FL, QOV group is about 80 quilts behind in donating, and we are hoping to get them caught up in donating quilts to the vets in their area that need them!
Here are some more of the latest quilts to come in! We just got 3 more in yesterday, so they are starting to really roll in now!
Aren’t these amazing?
We did want to say that if you can’t get your quilt finished by the August 31 date, please do not give up on it. We will continue to take them - it’s not that kind of contest. We appreciate so much each of you who have and are participating!
They don’t give out 29 quilts in one ceremony, it would simply take too long, so I’m sure that they will appreciate having the quilts come in gradually - it won’t be a problem.
I’ll be keeping you posted.
My sis has been overwhelmed by the attitude and generosity of you all who have participated. Many of you all have family members, friends and even yourselves who are vets and want to help in this not-so-small way!
If you are interested in the QOV bundles, Rachael has them on the site here. She has four, five, and 6 yard bundle packs available for a quick purchase at a very reasonable price.
Thanks again, all of you who are helping in this endeavor.
A special thanks to Kate, who has done all the writing to companies for gifts (and written thank yous) and is helping to organize the quilts and helping us stay on top of everything. She’s a little shy so getting a photo is difficult, but there’s a part of her showing in this one. :)
Thank you so much for coming along with us on this journey.
Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
Be sure to check out what my sis has for you in the store here!
