August strips Cutting Report

What? You say?

That’s crazy!

Why now. There is a lot of August left.

Yes, there is. But I won’t have a lot of time left to take care of strips. If I do, I’ll just include them in September’s report.

Why?

My son and family are arriving today, Tuesday, August 18, 2026 and I won’t have any focus or time to deal with scraps.

This is what I managed to get done.

2.5” - 6.28 lbs.

2” - 1.77 lbs.

1.5” - 1.77 lbs.

10” squares - 15.55 oz.

6” squares - 5.64 oz.

This month was quite a collection already. I’m thrilled! I had done so very little. I think I’m finding a lot of scraps that need to be cut down into strips.

Here are the totals for this year so far. You can see that this is a big month for me compared ot the rest of the year!

And here are my totals for the time since I’ve been keeping track. I won’t keep a running total of those squares as I often cut squares - in fact, I have a box or two of squares. :) (not 10” but smaller).

Looks like last year I did even less. I have almost surpassed last year’s of the 2.5” and have already cut more 2” than last year and am closing in on the 1.5”. It’s not a contest. I guess I’ve been ignoring them. Well, truly, I was cutting up all the Stephanie Slewinski fabrics and using them up right away, so that whole series gave me very few scraps. I have a small Ziplock bag of them.
