One of the First Quilts I made
This is one of my very early quilts.
I had found the moose fabric in the states but some of the other fabrics were from here in Poland. I was so happy with it! It isn’t nearly as big as many of the queen size quilts I do now. In fact, I’d probably call it about a full size. I haven’t measured it, but I just know it isn’t more than 80” wide.
Back then I thought I had to use purchased premade binding! LOL. That is so funny now! It is so wide!
Anyway, here are more pictures.
I don’t know what pattern I used or IF I used a pattern. I do know that very soon on in my quilting journey, my husband bought me the Electric Quilt program - EQ5 and I started working on my own layouts. It was far too tedious for me to draw things on graph paper. I’m really bad at visualizing colors without pictures.
So, I’ve been using the Electric Quilt program for quite a while. :)
I did fussy cut the moose in the middle of those blocks.
The navy blue was very loosely woven, but look - it has lasted! I used it for years! I was just starting to quilt and while I looked for cotton, I was very loose in what I would use.
When I came across this quilt - it was quite a blast from the past!
I hope you’ve enjoyed these pictures. I’m glad I have kept this quilt. It is a good reminder of what I liked back then. I still think that moose fabric is interesting!
And once again, thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.
Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
