A New Project in the works
With the wet weather we had over the weekend, the grass where I want to lay out a couple of tops for photos is too wet to use for that purpose yet. Maybe tomorrow.
Since I started another top— I wanted to take a few minutes to show you what I am doing.
This one is a very large block (16.5”), and as such, it is much faster than the normal block I make.
It’s this quilt.
And while the quilt in the book shows 12 blocks, I’m making it with 16 blocks. For now I’m only going to make the blocks as I don’t have enough for the sashings.
So, I’ve had some fun making the first part of them.
The pattern is found in the Lori Holt book - Scrappiness is Happiness.
I still have the rest of the blocks to finish, but then I will put them away until I can find some appropriate fabric for the sashing.
So there you are. Today we also had a big morning out at a place that we were told about called Widow’s Jar here in Indianapolis, which gives away things to missionaries.
We spent a few hours there, looking through their things and talking with the people there. Then, once we came how, I worked on making things more compact - in other words, getting rid of packaging, etc. so that things pack better in the car. :) We still have a couple more places to be before we go back to Florida.
They did have some quilting magazines which I took- and a couple of other quilting related things which I was allowed to just have. That’s fun.
So this is what I’ve been up to today.
Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
Thanks so much for coming along.
