As you go along your quilting journey one sees a lot of quotes by various people. Some of the most common ones we think of immediately are “Measure once, cut twice”, etc, and various others. I’ve actually made up some memes or signs with quotes here. Let me share some of my “oldie but goodie” quotes that relate to the quilts I”m showing. At least I tried to make them relate.

One of my absolute favorite quilt quotes that I’ve seen lately is by Lori Holt and it is,

“You are the BOSS of your own quilt!"

That one needs to be screamed all over the quilting world. Well, maybe not screamed - as that’s not very nice, but reiterated again and again. It’s in her book Quilty Fun. If we could just get all quilters to internalize this idea - and I mean really get it, I think we’d all be more sure of ourselves and our choices and less afraid of other people’s opinions.

I’ve seen people so afraid of making bad color choices (especially) that I still am amazed. I know I’ve made my share of mistakes, but I figure that’s just part of the learning process.
