June 2024 Strips cutting report

What a month June has been. My son and his wife came early in June and our lives have been a bit different while they’ve been here. We had forgotten what is is like to have other people living here. They are staying in the room where all the fabric is. As it is I’ve had to ask to go in there and get some fabric from time to time and have felt awful about that. Of course, they say it is fine, but I still hate to do it.

Anyway, I did almost no cutting in June. Here is the tiny bit I did do.

I want to keep up with this if for no other reason than a sort of accountability to myself. If I stop doing it, I’m afraid I will just start throwing all my scraps into a pile and not dealing with them at all. It’s certainly easier.

Anyway, the little bit I did is here -

2.5”- 0.06 lbs.

2” - 0 lbs.

1.5” - 0.06 lbs.

This makes my totals this so far this year.

Hopefully I will cut more in July. I do have some fabric pieces I can work through. This month I created a lot of weird shaped small pieces as I worked on the houses but I think I have one more bag of misc. pieces I have located in my sewing room that I will work on in July.

This also makes my totals so far since I started keeping track of all my cutting into strips.

At the rate at which I worked in June, it would take a lot of months to get enough to make a quilt. However, I hopefully will buckle down and get a pound or two from each size for July .

The amount of this month’s cutting was so little - I laughed. My husband laughed as well. At least it is a little bit better than nothing, right?

I told him I really needed to do this report in order to keep myself accountable.

Today our son and his wife moved to their new apartment. That’s kind of random, but they’ve been here since July 6.

Another random thing -
I saw this beautiful flower in our yard - near the house. Do you know what it is? I believe it must be a wildflower of some sort.

Anyway, thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey!

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
