My Crochet Project - as it is now- Going on Hold

Since we are slated to leave Florida on Thursday, this is my final update on this crochet project as I will be leaving it here. If all goes as planned, we hope to be back in the fall for a couple missions conferences and we will be on the road the whole time. Thus, I want to have things to work on, so I’m leaving this project along with the hooks and all the yarn in one place - ready to be picked up.

I have finished 70 of the squares, but I have not sewn the thread back through into the blocks. But that is something I will do at a later time. I still have 50 blocks to make. I recently got the needles where I can easily sew the yarn back into the blocks.

I am really liking it.

But one thing this has shown me - and that is that I am enjoying crochet again. It is a craft that is so accessible and there are so many You Tube videos out there ready to help - it is incredible.

I do want to pick it up back in Poland - and I will hopefully, find the yarn I want to use. Lots and lots of women crochet in Poland, so I am thinking that finding cotton yarn won’t be a big deal.

This is the project I want to do next. I think I mentioned it a different time. I will probably pick this one up on Poland, as I want to make the sunflowers in a variety of these sunflower colors. I am not sure the exact block, but it should be something like this. There seem to be many variations.

Mom had mentioned to me that she was sure curious to see this finished afghan. However, I told her that I wasn’t going to be able to finish it this time. I’ve been finishing up three rounds (the final ones - all the same color) during Wheel of Fortune in the evenings when we watch it together back in her bedroom.

So there you are. Just consider this one “on hold”.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
