Back to Edyta Sitar's Mystery for 2025
I mentioned wanting to do this quilt but we were getting ready to head to the states and I was frantically working on finishing 120 charity quilts.
So, I did. I just started saving the clues and trying to decide which fabrics. I was still undecided when we left for the states.
There I saw that Rachael got in a line I decided I could use.
I decided to just use it. I have plenty of fabrics that I can use for yet another qult as I got enough of each of the fabrics. Let me show you.
The design is by Stephanie Slewinski and her design company is Fancy That Design House. I think this will work well for this project.
You can imagine that I might like this line as it is called Foraged, Found and Hand Me Down. :)
Back to the mystery. Edyta has given us 9 clues.
The one I’m showing you today is the first clue. Clue 1 is here. If you are interested, Let me encourage you to download her clue before it is gone. She doesn’t promise they will stay up on the site for quite a while, BUT I’ve seen some of the older ones are still there. Shrug?
We only had to make 9 of these blocks. We do know this is going to be a medallion style quilt at this point. Of course, by this time, I know what it looks like.
Here are my first 9 blocks from clue nr 1.
These are all 6.5” square. I did some trimming and am quite pleased with how nice it is.
I want to get this top finished in a month or less, so that means, a couple of clues a week - and not just one a week. I think as the weeks go by, it is much harder as the top gets larger.
I might not reach the goal, but that’s okay - a goal is just that - a goal. I made the goal and if I don’t reach it, well, I’m farther along than if I hadn’t tried. I just felt so frustrated because her mystery was being offered right when I simply couldn’t do it. First of all, I was working hard on all the charity quilts and then, secondly, we were traveling in the USA and I had no access at all!
But in the end I was delighted that I ended up with this perfect fabric for it.
