September 2026 Strips cutting Report!

I did do some cutting this month! Not a whole lot, but some. I had that Mercantile project to get done, so I focused on that.

However, along with that, with all the charity piecing, I managed to produce a LOT more scraps.

Hmm.

I have also started a couple more new quilts. There’s that as well. I have multiple ones in the works. I need to pull another one of the scrap ones out and do it.

But here is what I did get done. In the last few days I spent an hour a day trimming. Because I’ve been working on more charity tops, I’ve been creating scraps from leftovers from that. I’m trying to not let those scraps pile up, uncared for. I’ve been focusing on cutting into 2.5” strips if I have a choice as I do use them for all the bindings.

2.5” - 5.4 lbs.

2” - 1.21 lbs.

1.5” - 1.21 lbs.

And so here is my totals from all my cutting from the beginning of this project.

You can see that this year I’ve already surpassed last year’s numbers in 2” and 2.5” strips. I do have another couple of bags to go through before the end of the year, so I will see how many more I can do. I am trying to not let them stack up again, but sometimes i get involved in the process of making more things and just kind of stack things to the side.

Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.

But because of this process, I did start my 2” series a while ago. I think it is time to revisit some of those quilts. These are on the free patterns page. Here are just a few of my favorites using up these cut up strips.

Just go to that page and look at the top of the free patterns page for these quilts. My 2” series of quilts are pretty much all at the top half.

Thanks again so much for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this!
