2025 Charity quilts #1-10

It’s time to start sharing the charity quilts I made in August/September. Here they are—the first ten for the year. Most of the tops were made in previous years except for the Spiderman panels made into quilts which you will be seeing. I believe I finished those up this summer - earlier in the summer - though I cut the pieces back in 2024. In other words, when we got back in May, 2025, I was working through things lying near my sewing machine upstairs and I saw all this pile of pieces - - made of panels, and a bunch of coordinates. I decided, “Just do it, Becky!”

And so I was able to get a lot of these panels finished up. You’ll be seeing them in the charity quilts featured this time. I don’t know exactly how many I did - but between 10 and 15 of the Spiderman panels.

I am using, once again, strips pulled from my 2.5” bags of strips for binding. I am thrilled to be able to use them as it saves me so much time AND helps use them up and, why not? I may not exclusively use the strips, but for many of the quilts, they are perfect. As you look at the finished quilts in the next few weeks, you may take a moment to see what I did end up using for binding. Most will be scrappy. I will try to show them at least sometimes.

Here they are.

If I remember, as I work on these blog posts, I will try to remember to show you the bindings.

I will need to trim off the threads on the bindings as we bring them down to give away. I will give scissors to my helpers on give-away day and ask for help.

I was so happy to get going on these - and the first ten went well. I did take pictures as I got them washed. Because, thankfully this time, I was able to do these in the summer, and when it was more or less warm-ish, I used the line outside to hang them on to dry - as many as I could anyway. As a result, I took pics as they were on the line drying.

Towards the end, when I did get behind on photographing, as the weather had gotten worse and I was drying in the house., I got behind by about 20. My husband helped me by bringing some outside to help me get them photographed faster as it was going to rain later. :)

I appreciate any help I can get and so appreciate the fact that he tolerates the total mess this creates in my house for a while.

As I write this, they are all out and moved to the storage room at the church.

Thank you so much for coming along with me on this journey.

As I see all these tops, it kind of begins to hit me on how much has gone into this project! Once again. I think when I’min the middle of it, I’m kind of in a zone and don’t really understand it - but then after I get done and look at the pictures, it hits me.
