I Found Someone Else in the Family….
My DIL, Jess, who is married to Daniel, our youngest child, absolutely loves the Lori Holt quilts I made. In fact, in a private group chat with my kids and their spouses, I asked them to let me know if there was any they wanted. She is the only one to tell me about what she wanted. In the end, I brought her three quilts— Mercantile, Town Square - both Lori Holt quilts, and my embroidered snowmen- 9 patch quilt.
While we were staying there, I had to her go through three Lori Holt books I had with me and mark under the photos which ones she liked with her initials with pencil.
You can buy two of the threefrom us here. Prairie Home, Scrappiness is Happiness, Quilty Fun.
I’ve not checked which she did, yet, but I will discover it. I told her it didn’t mean I would make them all, but it definitely would help me in knowing what kinds of things she likes.
She had picked out some Christmas panels and wants some quilts made from them. With all I’m doing for the store, I told her there was no way for me to finish them this time but I would try to take fabric back with me to make them up once back in Poland. I will have to spend some time planning them before we go back in May.
I’ll show you those.
I assured Jess that it was wonderful to know I had someone in my immediate family really loves quilts I’ve been making.
She thought she had told me about the apple quilt but I told her that she had not - she had only told me about the three I brought.
But I told her I wouldn’t mind parting with it as it is too small for the kinds of ways I use quilts and I would like to make another one - at which time I can give her that one. I was pretty upset with myself for making it so small. I think I mentioned that on my blog post about it.
Anyway, those of you who quilt a lot know what it’s like to not have loved ones take you up on your quilts - as they have had ‘enough’. So I’m glad to hear of one my children’s spouses who wants some!
Here’s is a sample of what she likes:
Some of you will understand the joy I have in finding this out - others of you won’t. But that’s okay.
If no one in our family wants our quilts, we ALL know charities love them and never seem to have enough.
Thanks so much for coming along with me on this journey.
Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
