"Prairie Stockings" top all finished...again

I shared with you when I finished this top before - here.

Then I brought it back to Poland and I was unhappy, well, that is too strong - but rather ‘not satisfied’ with the finished quilt top. To me, it wasn’t big enough and lacked some punch.

So, I decided to add borders and because I had a bit of that background with me, I wanted to make a block for each corner. I couldn’t go crazy on adding blocks as I didn’t have a lot of the background left, so I went a bit on the conservative side.

But this is what I did. I wanted to big enough for a queen, so for me, that’s at least 86” wide.

I didn’t want to use up too much of any single fabric, so I decided to “divide and conquer” and change the colors with each side. It also added a lot of fun to the quilt, IMO.

So, yes, I am happy with how it looks now. To me, it is now finished. :)

I didn’t change the center of the quilt at all. All I did was add the red border and then the outside blocks with the wide colorful borders.

And now I feel like it is complete.

this quilt was taken from the book Prarie Home. We have some in our shop and it can be purchased here.

The extra block I added was found elsewhere in the book - can’t remember exactly which pattern it was found as part of, but it was there.

I also prepared the backing for this top and have them together, ready to go.

Thanks again for coming along with me on this journey.

Have a great day wherever you are reading this.
